The Blue Star Museums initiative is a partnership among Blue Star Families, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), and more than 1,500 museums across America.   First launched in the summer of 2010, Blue Star Museums offers free admission to active duty military personnel and their spouses and children. In addition to children’s museums, participating museums represent a broad range of art, history, science, and cultural topics.

Blue Star Museums is a “thank you” to our military personnel and their families for their service and sacrifice. It also affords military families a way to spend quality time together, without worrying about the budget.

The free admission offer is good from Memorial Day, May 28, 2012 through Labor Day, Sept. 3, 2012. Approved ID must be furnished.  See for regulations.

Locally, Superstition Mountain Museum is one of the museums participating in the program this summer. This museum, run by the Superstition Mountain Historical Society, located at 4087 N. Highway 88 just east of the intersection of highway 88 with Mountain View Rd.

Visit the NEA website for the entire list of Blue Star Museums.
